Haikus

Someone on Wordcraft has gotten me interested in haikus, so I am going to write one from time to time here. I had never gotten into them like I have with limericks and DDs, but I am trying to learn to appreciate them. Here is a site that explains them.

Squirrels with acorns,
There's a chill in the evening,
Golds and reds and orange.

Not relevant to the post, but I have to tell you that I recently won a prize in a poetry competition with a limerick! Details on my blog.

I've written haikus, though not for a long time. A friend of mine has written some more, and overlays them on photographs.

I like the image your haiku evokes. That's what I look for in a haiku, either a strong image or a strong emotion.
